A Life of Freedom & Fulfillment

Then when they ask you what makes you so different from everybody else, you’ll be able to say. “God gave his Son for me to forgive me of my sins. I’ve found freedom and life in him, and that’s how I’m able to show you this kind of love.”
— “#struggles”, By Craig Groeschel

Hey Yall! I’m beyond excited to have you on my new site and I can’t wait to go on this journey together. I’m Alena, wife, mother and entrepreneur. But it’s totally ok to just label me as a girl from Atlanta whose life, mind and spirit was totally transformed and renewed in Christ. For the last few years my story has been shared many times over as the chick who lived in NYC working her dream job as a Wall Street analyst, left her job to pursue entrepreneurship, launched an iPhone app called GyrlTalk and then randomly found out about that Crazy Wrap Thing and became massively successful. The End. Great Story! And while that is pretty much what happened, that’s not how it ended. In fact, while it was the perfect ending to my twenties there was quite a different beginning to my thirties.

A year that I quite frankly dreaded throughout my twenties because it meant I actually had to grow up and become an adult. In a matter of two years I had managed to go from a single “career woman” to a full-time entrepreneur, mother and wife. Which translates to my life was no longer my own, team no sleep, endless piles of laundry, hundreds of undone to-do lists, missed meals, a never-ending weight loss journey, post partum depression, spousal arguments, abandoned friendships, holiday-only family time, non existent social life and a constant chase for a solution, tool, book or coach to fix it all. Only to find out that there was only one person that could fix it. Jesus.

Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.
— Ephesians 6:!5

In all honesty this site was created because I needed/wanted a place I could connect with people to answer all the questions I receive daily. How do you raise a business and a baby? How did you lose 70lbs of pregnancy weight? How do you keep yourself motivated? What are some books you would recommend? How did you successfully plan a wedding during your first year of motherhood? Did you breastfeed? How do you study The Bible? How do you know Jesus is real? How did you meet your husband? What tools do you use to keep yourself organized? AHHH the list goes on and on and I know exactly how you feel because they were the same questions I wanted answers to as well.

Let the message about Christ completely fill your lives, while you use all your wisdom to teach and instruct each other.
— Colossians 3:16 CEV

I was the first of my immediate circle of friends to have a baby and get married so I was forced to explore this WHOLE NEW WORLD alone. And in searching for all these answers I discovered that I was never alone and you are not alone and growing my relationship with Christ has been the final answer and saving grace in my life. This is my first attempt at sharing my spiritual beliefs, practices and journey in a public forum so I pray that those who are called to this site and the content shared are touched by divine order and affected according to God’s will. I’m just like everyone reading this…trying to live out God’s purpose for my life, be an amazing wife for my husband, provide a great life for my son but what I have come to learn is that WE will never be ENOUGH. But Jesus is MORE than enough. So I trust that as I share my best tips and practices, favorite books and planners, or even the places where I love to go to just get away you understand that he should always be the center. And that in learning and engaging with me you grow closer in your walk with him, for my life is truly a testimony of his goodness and favor.

Let the Spirit change your way of thinking and make you into a new person. You were created to be like God, and so you must please him and be truly holy.
— Ephesians 4: 23-24
